Standard Chartered Names Wealth Arm's New Investment Chief

has drawn from its own ranks to name Steve Brice as chief executive of its wealth management business. He replaces Alexis Calla, who has left the bank.
With quarter of a century of financial industry experience under his belt, Brice leads a team of more than 25 investment professionals and chairs the UK-listed bank’s global investment committee.
Brice’s previous Standard Chartered roles include chief economist (Southeast Asia), head of research (Middle East and South Asia) and head of global markets (Southern Africa). He started his career at IDEA Ltd, a financial consultancy in London, where he was regional head of foreign exchange (Europe) before joining SCB.
He regularly contributes articles to newspapers and magazines and frequently appears on CNBC and Bloomberg TV and radio.
Based in Singapore, Brice is originally from the UK, but has lived in Asia, Africa and the Middle East for the past 20 plus years.
In November last year Standard Chartered unveiled sweeping changes to its structure, including private banking, moving to combine that business with retail banking and wealth management. The bank also confirmed that Didier von Daeniken, who was made global head, private banking, in March 2016, is leaving the UK-listed banking group this year.
